End of Watch: December 5, 2002
Corrections Officer Shannon Russell passed away while on duty. He had just completed the new obstacle course at the Arizona H.I.D.T.A. Regional Training Center, as part of a physical conditioning program for the Corrections Bureau Tactical Assistance Group (TAG), when he collapsed.
Shannon was a wrestler and graduated from Flowing Wells High School. He enjoyed weight training and competed in several bodybuilding competitions.
Shannon Russell, age 43, was very well liked and respected throughout the Corrections Bureau as he was a true leader. He was survived by his father Ned; step-mother Mary; brothers Michael, Thane, and Brady; and sister Daphne.
